"Sugar Mill Kettles" By Elisabeth "Sissie" Barr gift card. Each card comes with matching envelope and is individually wrapped in cellophane measuring approx. 8" X 5.5"
Once believed to be a Spanish Mission built in the 1600s, this ruin located at 600 Mission Drive, New Smyrna Beach Florida, is today believed to be have been built in 1830 by William dePeyster and Eliza and Henry Cruger of New York. The scene highlights the iron kettles that were used in the production of sugar cane backdropped by the beautiful arched windows. The design of the arched doorways and windows helped add fuel to the belief that the structure was first built by the Spanish and then re-purposed in later years. The Cruger / dePeyster Plantation Sugar Mill Ruins are registered with the National Park Services registry of history places.
